This beautifully – and cleverly – illustrated children’s book is just as much fun when you’re an adult. Each page or double-page spread conjures a letter of the alphabet with rhyming alliteration and illustrations full of things starting with that letter.
It took him years to complete the artwork for this book. Animalia was first published inthree years before The Eleventh Hour. This is one of those children’s books that I bought graeeme before I had a child. Lush alliteration and gorgeously detailed pictures are just a few of the reasons why we really like this alphabet book by Graeme Base.
This book is not an “A is for Apple” book, it has more depth than that. This particular edition comes with a poster on animaliaa inside of the jacket “that holds a riddle to be solved.
The pictures are large and bright.
Please try again later. This book would make a lovely gift for year olds, and I very much enjoyed pouring over it myself. For example, there are gorillas, guitars, and a goblet, giraffe, goat, gnome etc. This beautiful, whimsical, gorgeously illustrated “alphabet” book will enchant children for many years!

An amazing, unique take on your standard alphabet book. The result is an alphabet book that grows with your kid, because even a grown-up can spend a lot of time quietly poring over the pages of the book to catch one last detail, find one more F word, locate the boy in the striped shirt on every page.

A final word before we go; There’s one more thing you ought to know: The book is bursting with illustrations of animals, from peacocks to lions and animal legends, such as unicorns and dragons.

Abrams published The Animalia Wall Friezea fold-out over 26 feet in length, in which the author created new riddles for each letter. Can I please have the fourth place at that table? Disappointed as I was that baby Heidi failed to appre I always knew Graeme Base was good, but it was a touch of divine inspiration that really made me praise him.
