Ky is still wrapped up in the political machinations of an unseen person or entity with malicious intentions toward her family. I love all of characters, which are completely developed and real. I mean maybe the reader who I won’t name here has done a good job on other books. It was another great adventure with good writing, great pacing, and three-dimensional characters. I will join you gladly. I loved the crazy mercenary company and how Ky made deals with them.

The downsides are still apparent, in that character development remains somewhat surface-only and there’s never reprsal time for true emotional connections both between characters or between characters and reader. I particularly love Grandma Grace. Now Kylara is going to make them pay. Still, a very good read. I have never picked up one of her books and been disappointed.

Previously, too, the other Vattas were all senior to her. Then they overrun entire star systems, growing stronger and bolder. There are bigger problems to handle before anything romantic happens and to me that is entirely believable. It isn’t great sci-fi, but I found the story entertaining.
The only minor quibble was the distrust between Ky and her cousin in book three.

With most of her immediate family back home on Slotter Key blown to smithereens in a dastardly sneak attack and communication lines down, Ky must first find out who’s responsible—then kill the villains out to drain Vatta blood.
What she is not prepared for is the shocking truth behind the terrorand a confrontation with murderous treachery from a source as unexpected as it is unrelenting.
